What is your name? Mags the Magnificent
Where are you from? Representin’ Queens, no not born out in Brooklyn! Queens, New York baby, the best of all Five boroughs!
How did you come to read Fifty Shades of Grey?
One of my sisters and I met up with Crissy and a friend to go see The Hunger Games, I believe Crissy had mentioned it via a text once before, but during this outing she really pushed me to reat it.
Did you read an actual book or an ebook?
I read the ebooks, but am happy to report I own the hardcovers as well now.
Which is your favorite book in the series?
Oh, its a toss up, I love Darker, but find Freed full of hope and light.
What is your favorite scene in the series?
Anyone that knows me, knows I love me some freaky deaky shit. The chase scene and following scene in the R8 is one of my top 3.
How many times have you read the series?
I have read the series 3 times fully and now find myself going to specific scenes in the book, depending on if I am reading for pleasure of searching for inspiration for a post.
Outside of Fifty Shades of Grey, what is your favorite book, series or author?
I have to admit, before Fifty, I never really read Erotica. Being a buff at heart, my favorite authors tend to be more of the criminal fiction kind. JD Robb, Patricia Cornwell’s Scarpetta series, Deen Koontz, Catherine Coulter, Janet Evanovich, Katherine Slaughter, Kay Hooper, Iris Johansen, and The Divergent Series by Veronica Roth. I tend to like books that have a strong female lead alot of the time. I love Collen Hoover’s Hopeless, and have recently finished The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare. I love the This Man series by Jodi Ellen Malpas, Olivia Thorne, and Sylvia Day. Throw in some historical fiction and non-fiction and a little true crime and you had me at hello.
If you were to meet E L James today, what 2 questions would you ask her?
Only 2, thats not enough!
1. Now that your books are best sellers and you can pick and choose the projects that you want to do, do you see yourself writing more Erotica or do you think you’ve done the best you will ever do with that genre? Is the expectation too high for another series to make the same or greater splash in the industry?
2. Do you ever think to yourself, fuck this shit, I just want to go back to being anonymous and live a semi-normal life with out being in the spotlight?
Have you had any unique experiences because of your love of Fifty Shades of Grey?
Absolutely, First and foremost, partnering up to run this blog with Crissy. Meeting fellow fans and bloggers online and in person. Being interviewed by MTV news! Going to the Katie Couric show for her Fifty Shades show. Last but not least, tweeting with people that I would never have had the chance to interact with in a million years!
What scene are you most looking forward to in Fifty Shades of Grey The Movie?
I honestly can’t narrow it down to one in particular. I kind of am more excited to see how they bring the entire book to the screen and what scenes make it in the movie and which ones don’t.
