Where are you from? Long Island, NY
How did you come to read Fifty Shades of Grey?
My sister kept mentioning this book that I HAD to read, all her friends were talking about it. She kept calling it Mommy Porn and with a label like that I figured I should read it while I was out sick from work. I read the series in 5 days in March of 2012 at the same time as my sister.
Before I read the book I had looked it up on the internet, there wasn’t much there but I did see a reference or two about it being Twilight fan fiction and something about BDSM, but nothing that jumped out at me. As I read I remembered seeing that BDSM mention and started getting a little nervous. But I fell in love with Christian and Ana and wanted them to work out. I also remember my butt really hurting from sitting on it all day and night reading.
Did you read an actual book or an ebook?
Kindle, I would read each and at the end run to my computer to order and download the next so I could start reading that.
Which is your favorite book in the series?
Fifty Shades Darker
What is your favorite scene in the series?
I love the scenes at the beginning of Darker when they are renegotiating their relationship.
How many times have you read the series?
I’m currently on my 5th, but I’m often referring back to parts of it for the blog and will get sucked into reading a chapter or two at time.
Outside of Fifty Shades of Grey, what is your favorite book, series or author?
The first author I ever read willingly was Judith McNaught, that was my start at romance novels. But I also like Sylvia Day, Olivia Thorne, Jude Deveraux, Hopeless by Colleen Hoover, Twilight, The Harry Potter series – the list goes on and on. But I’ve also been known to read some mystery novels, true crime, history and travel books.
If you were to meet E L James today, what 2 questions would you ask her?
1. It seems that Fifty Shades of Grey has opened up some unique opportunities for you, which of these opportunities has been your favorite?
2. What do you do during your free days while in Vancouver for filming?
Have you had any unique experiences because of your love of Fifty Shades of Grey?
Well I talked my friend into starting a blog…
But that has opened many doors for me that I never imagined, like being on the radio, being interviewed by a variety of media companies. But my favorite is meeting people from around the world, both in person and online. I met several people in 2013 and hope to meet even more in 2014.
I’ve also learned quite a bit about the process of making a film, I’m not ready to make my own, but I have a better idea of the work that goes into it and the time frame.
What scene are you most looking forward to in Fifty Shades of Grey The Movie?
Oh geez, where to start…
I’m kinda curious how they’ll do the scene at the end with Christian hitting Ana with the belt, but it’s NOT my favorite scene.
I like the scene the morning after meeting Christian’s parents, when they have sex on the desk. Christian is really working through this whole relationship thing in his head, particularly after having to reign himself in the night before and then tell Ana a bit about himself. You really see him start to change that morning, even if Ana just thinks he’s being weird. I’m curious how they’ll show all that emotion to the audience.
